Our Mission
The Hummingbird Foundation is in its early stages—founded to support the caregivers of medically complex children. If you’ve ever walked through a diagnosis, managed countless appointments, or tried to stay strong while holding it all together—this space is for you.
We’re building a foundation that offers support, relief, and recognition for the people who give everything to care for their children.
Where We’re Headed
As we lay the groundwork, our vision includes:
Financial Assistance – Helping families with travel, treatment, and out-of-pocket costs.
Respite and Relief – Offering moments of rest, connection, and support for caregivers.
Community and Advocacy – Creating space for caregiver stories and systemic support.
We’re just getting started—and we can’t do this alone.
Why It Matters
When a child has complex medical needs, their caregiver becomes so much more than a parent—they're an advocate, a nurse, a scheduler, a researcher, and often the emotional anchor of the entire family.
But too often, caregivers are asked to carry this weight alone. And the cost is steep.
Caregivers without support are significantly more likely to experience burnout, depression, and chronic anxiety. Financial strain becomes a constant companion, especially when navigating insurance gaps, time off work, or long-distance travel for care.
And when a caregiver is overwhelmed or exhausted, it isn’t just their well-being at risk—things get missed, communication breaks down, and the child’s care can suffer too.
That’s why we’re building The Hummingbird Foundation. Because supporting the caregiver is supporting the child. It’s how we create better outcomes, more sustainable care, and families who don’t just survive—but feel held in the process.
